Training Modules

Verification

There are two main separate verification indicators in the NSI. One indicator is for verifying the Name and Date of Birth information, while the other is Residential Status.

When you are initially adding the record they will both default to ‘Unverified’:

Depending on the documents you have available to verify the student’s details, you can change the verification methods to any of the following:

-     Birth Certificate

-     Other

-     Passport

Another verification source, Births Register, is only available for use by the Ministry of Education.

NOTE:

If the Name/DoB or Residential Status Verification is set to Births Register, then the two verification flags are now locked, which means that no changes can be made to the name sitting in the Main Name field, the Date of Birth field or the Residential Status. Any other names, whether verified or not, can be added to the Alternative Name field, either via the website, through an interface, or in a batch file.
