Education Sector Authentication and Authorisation
ESAA is the authentication and authorisation mechanism that provides users with access to online Education Sector Services which include:

National Student Index (NSI);

Services for Tertiary Education Organisations (STEO);

Tertiary Data Warehouse (TDW);

New Zealand Qualifications Authority Tertiary Education Organisation Extranet (TEOE);

Electronic Receipting System (ERS);

Tertiary Education Commission Shared Workspaces;

Literacy and Numeracy for Adults Assessment Tool;

Assessment Tool for Teaching and Learning (e-asTTle);

Te Kete Ipurangi (TKI).

New Users
For new users wishing to access the above online education sector services depending on the user type, please complete one of the forms below:

The Application to be a Delegated Authoriser (PDF 61kb), your organisation’s CEO or equivalent (e.g. Principal) is able to grant access to online Sector Services for their employees. Please complete this form if your CEO wants to delegate this responsibility to you.

ESAA Authorisers and Delegated Authorisers
If you are the Authoriser or Delegate at your organisation, please ensure that you use the forms and guides made available online.
If you have any users who are no longer with the organisation or no longer require access to the online education sector services currently assigned to them, the Access Deletion Form (PDF 25kb) should be completed to amend access as appropriate.
ESAA Code of Practice
The ESAA Code of Practice (PDF 540kb) introduces the trust, privacy and security principles of the ESAA service and provides information about the management and related responsibilities of the ESAA service. The Code of Practice is taken from a more comprehensive ESAA Operations Policy (PDF, 504kb). It is recommended that all users and other stakeholders of the ESAA service read/are aware of these documents.
