Introduction
Students enrolled in more than one loan and allowance approved qualification, but none of them full time, are unable to access Student Allowances through an institution’s electronic VoS interface. This Concurrent Study page on STEO is designed to make accessing Student Allowances for these students easier.
Instructions for use
Go to the new STEO web page ( www.steo.govt.nz )
Select ‘applications’ from the menu bar.
Once in the applications screen, select ‘secure site’ from the menu.
You will then be prompted to log in
Once you have successfully logged in Select the TEC tab.
Once in the TEC site select ‘quals’ from the menu bar
Once in the ‘quals’ screen select ‘concurrent study’ from the menu bar
Once you are in the ‘concurrent study’ screen select the ‘add’ button about half way down the screen
Displayed will be a screen with two parts: One for Concurrent Study Details and the other for Concurrent Study Qualification Components.
In the Concurrent Study Details the following sections must be filled out
Title – eg hairdressing and computing
Contact – use the drop down box to select to select a contact person from the names of people from your organisation.
Reason for Change – e.g. student wants to study both
First Date/Last Date – (of study) both these fields will need to be completed with ‘earliest start date’ and ‘latest finish date’.
In the Concurrent Study Qualification Components the following sections must be filled out
Qualification Code – (for your institution) click on the question mark on the right hand side of the of qual code field. Click on the relevant qualification from the list provided.
2nd Provider box – click on the question mark on the right hand side of the field. To search for the Provider enter the name in the ‘description’ field and click on ‘search’. Then click on the 'Provider code' – the four digit number on the left of the Institution name.
2nd Provider Qualification Code – follow the same instructions as for the Qual Code for your institution.
Once you have entered these details, click on the save button.
To check the status of the new qualification, go back to the Concurrent Study page and go to the ‘status’ menu. To see if a new qualification is approved, pending or rejected, click on the ‘concurrent qualifications’ in question and then ‘search’.
